Updated information on the educational settings status form

Thank you for completing this daily attendance return. Your data helps us build a national picture of educational provision so that we can focus support more effectively, monitor the impact of the virus, and ensure children are safe.

We have been listening to your feedback over the course of the last two weeks and will be making a number of changes in response from Monday:

  • fewer requests related to student or pupil absence reasons
  • extra guidance in the form to support completion
  • streamlined questions for the FE sector
  • a new request to inform DfE how many pupils or students are attending your educational setting in years 10 and 12, in line with Government guidance on the wider opening of settings to more pupils

Over the coming days we will also begin automatically populating selected parts of the return from the previous day to reduce the time needed to complete.

Guidance on how to record attendance at this time and a link to the current online form can be found here:

Updated guidance on remote education during coronavirus

We have updated our guidance on remote education during the coronavirus outbreak to include case studies from schools that have shared their experiences of how they have adjusted the curriculum in their setting, how they have organised mixed ability pupils into smaller groups and mitigated for different levels of pupil learning during the outbreak.

Examples of experiences and practices of teachers and school leaders can be found here:
