Creating Tomorrow was formed in 2017, initially consisting of Isebrook SEN College and Wren Spinney Special School.
Located in Kettering, both special schools were committed to supporting families in the local community and felt it would be more effective to collaborate formally.
Creating Tomorrow Multi Academy Trust was born as a result and was headed up by Kevin Latham, who was previously Headteacher at Isebook.
In 2018, Isebrook and Wren Spinney were joined by Daventry Hill School, an all-through special school, which transferred from another trust.
In 2019, Creating Tomorrow College was established, based temporarily in Kettering but then opening its first campus at Chester House in Irchester in September 2022. The college is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Creating Tomorrow and was set up to plug a gap, helping young people 18–25 with special needs improve their employability skills.
2019 also saw both Isebrook School and Wren Spinney School go through a period of rapid expansion. Isebrook opened the Franklin Building (named after a local PCSO who passed away) which increased capacity from 160 to 252 and Wren Spinney doubled in size with several new rooms added.
Kings Meadow School and The Gateway School both joined the trust in 2023, transferring from local authority-maintained status to academies, with Kings Meadow joining in April and Gateway in October. Both are SEMH specialist schools.
2023 was also a busy year for Creating Tomorrow College as it opened its second campus in September, based at the Icon Centre in Daventry.
College expansion continued in 2024, with a third campus opening within Iron Mountain's Magna Park facility in Lutterworth, thanks to their support of our vision to drive up the rates of employability of young people with SEND.
2025 saw the expansion of both The Gateway School and Creating Tomorrow College, with The Gateway opening a new block in September to almost double its size, and the College opening a new campus in Kettering within Iron Mountain's site in Symmetry Park in September.
Continuing a busy 2025, Daventry Hill School also expanded and added a new 6th Form block in October.
2026 will see Creating Tomorrow College expanding into Warwickshire, opening another new campus in Rugby.
